May Day Eve Commemoration
The Pittsburgh General Membership Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World will once again be hosting the annual May Day Eve Commemoration.
Join us at the Bulgarian Macedonian Cultural Center for our annual commemoration of the 1886 Haymarket Affair in Chicago and the fight for the eight-hour workday.
We will commemorate the true ‘Labor Day’ and come together to remember the achievements of the working class, as well as build bonds to defend and address the current struggles we still face.
Event Activities Include:
- Local Entertainment: (details to come)
- Potluck Buffet (please feel free to bring a dish to share)
- Cash Bar (water, soft drinks, beer, and wine)
- Children’s Activities (details to come)
There is no cost for admission (and parking is free in the Cultural Center parking lot), although donations are welcome.
Doors open at 19:00 ET, and the event will conclude around midnight with a march to the Homestead Steelworkers memorial while singing songs of solidarity.
